Nasal Naloxone for EMS Agencies (NNEA) – Restocking Grant Opportunity –
This grant opportunity is available for restocking nasal naloxone for licensed emergency medical services (EMS) agencies
The Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) is announcing a NO COST grant opportunity to licensed EMS agencies for restocking of nasal naloxone to be administered by EMS personnel. EMS agencies that were funded during the NNEA grant opportunity may apply for direct replacement of nasal naloxone by providing a report (time nasal naloxone shipment received from OEMS to March 1, 2018) to include:
- number of incidents
- number of mg administered per call
- number administered by unit and route
The EMS agency applying for this grant opportunity must either have a controlled substance registration (CSR) OR the operational medical director (OMD) must provide authorization for shipment of naloxone, their drug enforcement agency (DEA) number and an address for the medication to be shipped to on behalf of the awarded agency. If applying for a regional project, all EMS agencies included must be listed in the grant application.
- Applications for funding are available through the EMS-Grant Information Funding Tool (E-GIFT), along with the NNEA User Guide available on the OEMS website at: www.vdh.virginia.gov/emergency-medical-services/administration-finance/rsaf-grants-program/
- Applications must be received through E-GIFT with all appropriate e-signatures by the application deadline, June 1, 2018.
