12th Annual Stroke Symposium

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Physicians, Nurses, EMS, Therapists and other healthcare providers interested in the care of patients with stroke and associated diseases.

SYMPOSIUM OBJECTIVES:
> Review the identification and treatment of stroke including advanced imaging
> Discuss the role of telemedicine in streamlining stroke care and processes
> Review the standard of care for various types of strokes
> Review the importance of streamlining stroke care starting in the Emergency Department
> Discuss new and emerging innovations in stroke technology
> Discuss identification of posterior circulation strokes
> Understand quality improvement initiatives in stroke care
> Understand EMS involvement in acute stroke care including tele stroke
> Discuss treatment of Cryptogenic Stroke
> Discuss new devices available for endovascular aneurysm treatment
>Discuss hypercoagulable workup for stroke patients
>Recognize that sleep apnea is a risk factor for stroke and its management and the role a dentist can play in reducing risk
> Discuss management and rehabilitation of the stroke patient during the subacute phase of care
>Discuss the management of post stroke spasticity
