Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab

The Difficult Airway Cadaver Lab is a one day course designed to help the newer paramedic develop and enhance their airway skills through both didactic teaching and practical application of skills on the cadavers.  The in-person skills lab training is interactive and providers will participate in group activities, scenario management, perform skills, and be encouraged out of their comfort zone; all to implement long term retention of material.  Through deployment of multiple learning pedagogy tools, this course is designed through prioritizing an evidence-based curriculum and enhancing the comfort level of the providers while caring for patients. Skills to be performed include difficult airway assessment and identification, direct and video laryngoscopy, surgical crics, needle decompression, extraglottic device placement, NG/OG tube placement, oxygenation/ventilation management.

**NOTE: this material will be repeated on day one of the Extreme Airway Cadaver Lab so please do not register for both classes.**

Seats available: 30

All attendees will receive Virginia CE for the class.  Additionally, providers who also hold IBSC FP-C or CCP-C certifications will be able to use these hours toward recertification.

If you are trying to register and the event is full, you can email Kelsey Rideout (KRideout@vaems.org) to be added to the waitlist.  If you register and then need to cancel, please email Kelsey Rideout as well.
