Regional Testing

General Information

The REMS Council coordinates and provides testing sites for both Virginia Office of EMS and the National Registry of EMT’s PRACTICAL testing. All written testing is completed through Pearson Vue and can be scheduled through www.nremt.org.

Entry-level EMT-B candidates are required to complete psychomotor skills testing at a Virginia Consolidated Testing Site (CTS). REMS strives to make these sites easily accessible to providers throughout the region. Nearly a dozen different sites are offered throughout the year and held throughout the two planing districts. Please click on the CTS button below for further information on EMT-B testing.

Persons seeking certification at the ALS level (Virginia EMT-Enhanced, National Registry Advanced EMT, Virginia EMT-I, or National Registry Paramedic) are required to complete psychomotor skills testing at a NREMT test site. REMS hosts 5 test sites throughout the year, approximately every 10 weeks, at the Regional Training and Simulation Center. Please click on the National Registry button below for further information.
